Donations & Commemorative Gifts

Trees & Benches, Groves & Gardens, and Other Gifts of Green

We feature Gifts of Green to celebrate a birthday, honor a life, or remember a special occasion, or enhance a favorite park with trees planted or benches installed in a Montgomery County park. Your gift will benefit many park users as well, and is a tax-deductible donation. The process is as simple as contacting the Donations Manager and/or completing the online forms. Learn more about the Gifts of Green.

Many parks are benefitting from Green Gifts and grants. Is your favorite park represented on the map below? Join us as an individual or group to make donations to add trees, benches, or other approved amenities that may not be possible to have without your help. You can also help us in our two new donation programs to save existing trees.

Give the Gift of Parks!

Meet Department of Parks Grants and Donations Manager Tin-Mala during this December 2008 episode of “The Parks Show.”

Special Park Donations

The Montgomery County Planning Board and the Montgomery County Department of Parks welcome substantial donations of $100,000 or more, provided that they are acceptable under the Montgomery County Council’s adopted guidelines for county agencies. These guidelines were created to ensure that the generous donation may be accommodated by a county agency without adversely affecting its current operating budget and/or the limited resources of the County government in general. Additionally, the guidelines allow county residents to comment on large donations to the County. Policy (pdf, 353KB)
